February Meeting Highlights

Three Red Hearts for Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day....

February Meeting...

ORPHAN BLOCKS

Get out  your Orphan blocks, dust them off and bring them to our next meeting.  We will be swapping orphan blocks with one another in a fun game called Yankee Swap...details of the game will be announced at the meeting.  It will be fun to see if the blocks will come back at the June Meeting (or sooner!) in a finished form, whether it be a pillow, bag, wall hanging or a full blown quilt!

MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Our Guild is very lucky to have creative and talented members who love to share their ideas and techniques with other members. The following members will be demonstrating and giving a talk:
  • Mario will talk about "Fabric bias and Block construction".
  • Carol will demonstrate her technique of "Slice and Insert".
  • And Suzie will demonstrate how to use a Pineapple Ruler.

SHOW & SHARE

Please bring in some of your latest projects and/or something that you created to celebrate Valentine's Day for Show & Share!
Chocolate Valentine...No calories!

RAFFLE

We have a few raffle prizes that you are going to want to win!

Modern Quilt Guild

I was checking out our group page on the National Modern Quilt Guild website and saw that a few more people have joined our group page! Yay!!

I would like to encourage the rest of you to login to the MQG webpage:
and join the Long Island Modern Quilt Guild Group Page.

Get the most out of the membership dues that we (LIMQG) paid to join the MQG.

There are a few steps needed to find our group page.  After you log in, click on "Community", then "Groups" and search for "LONG ISLAND"
Our group will pop up, just click to join!

Also look around the website...it has lots to offer. If you click on "Education" and then "Resources" you will find a lot of free webinars, quilt patterns, even videos of a modern quilting show called: Fresh Quilting

If you have any questions about the website...just send an email to me @ contactlimqg@gmail.com

 I will try to answer!
