We hope you had a wonderful, relaxing summer. It seems like only yesterday that days were long and sunny, yet today, the air is crisp and clean, and fall is finally here.
Last Tuesday, September 16, 2014, LIMOD met at the Lutheran Church in East Northport to discuss the new and exciting ideas in store for our Fall 2014-Spring 2015 year.
One item discussed was the September 2014 Block of the Month (BOM).
This year's BOM will be a tutorial from the blog: In Color Order (www.incolororder.com). Click on Block of the Month or look in the tutorials section of the blog. Below is the direct link.
We will start with September's block and go from there. Make your blocks in any color/fabric you'd like (look at the color values in the finished quilt for inspiration. Bring in your finished block each following month to show.

Guidelines for the Charm Swap:
- Cut Twelve (12) 5-inch x 5-inch squares of quilt shop quality fabric from a SOLID fat quarter. Please, no fabrics from Joann's, Michaels, etc.
- Put your twelve (12) 5-inch squares in a gallon plastic zip bag or similar which will keep the fabric nice and flat.
- Bring up to five (5) packets to the October meeting. You take home as many packets as you bring.
- At the meeting, see the swap coordinator to drop off your packets and get your pick numbers.
- Can't be at the October meeting? Send your packets with a trusted friend and we'll pick for you!
- At the October meeting we'll fill you in on the "challenge" guidelines for what you will be doing with these bundles!
- Not sure how to cut the perfect charm? Try visiting Elizabeth Hartman's blog for an excellent tutorial for cutting accurate charm squares from a fat quarter:
Please feel free to contact us with any questions... Looking forward to swapping with you at the October meeting~ Tuesday October 21, 2014.
