June Recap

The last meeting of the year was a fun celebration with guest speaker Jessica Levitt in the house! Members brought lots of tasty treats to share and we had a fantastic end of the year raffle prize - a $25 gift card to Hawthorne Threads!

We kicked off the evening with show and tell, and the quilts did not disappoint.

Irene shared this large scale modern design, which can be double sided, since she used scraps from the front to piece the back. All made from her stash -- well done Irene!

Lorna shared her completed Interleave

and so did Mario

Judy shared a few more blocks from her Delilah Quilt

and a gorgeous Alison Glass finished quilt!

Maureen shared her hexi project

And Colleen showed us the finished quilt that she started at LIMQG's sew-in night

New guest Michelle shared a Star Wars inspired quilt that she is making for her husband. She promised to share her progress when we meet again in September!

Madelyn shared her Interleave quilt, too.

Next up, Jess spoke to us about her journey as a quilt designer, fabric designer, book author and teacher.

Many of the quilts that she shared were made with her own fabric lines and were featured projects in her book, like this King sized beauty!

Here are some more lovely quilts she shared as part of her trunk show:

We ended the night with Janet winning the big prize from the raffle. But we didn't get a picture because we ran over time!

We hope everyone enjoyed this year with LIMQG and we look forward to seeing everyone back again in September! We are excited to continue to build this community of modern quilters and bring you fresh and exciting content in the next year!  We'll be back with more news to share in another post to fill you in on all of the exciting new things we have going on with the guild over the summer and for next year! Stay tuned!

Have a great summer and we'll see some of you at the Denyse Schmidt workshop on July 16!
