september meeting recap.

The 2015-2016 LIMOD Year is off to a great start! Everyone's improv projects were so unique and really fantastic! If you were unable to make the meeting, here's what you missed:

We started the meeting with a short film "Made in Japan" which detailed the process of how fabric is made. If you would like to see it (and it's definitely worth the watch) you can find the film on the Cotton and Steel website here.

We swapped improv projects! The photos don't necessarily do these fabulous pieces justice, but they will give you a hint of what we shared:

Julie's bag for Kim

Judy's table runner for Julie

Laurie made a bunting. . .

. . . and a bulletin board for Carol

Carol's tote for Lisa

Lisa's cheerful table runner

Lorraine received a gorgeous quilt!!

And Lorraine made this fantastic clutch for Laurie

Stella got this awesome sewing machine mini from Elise

And Madelyn received this cute improv pouch
Irene made a whole collection of improv pieced coasters

Suzi made a stunning art quilt for Angie

And Angie made this awesome Kaffe sewing machine cover for Suzi.
Elise received a great table runner made with improv pieced rainbow starflowers

and here's Victoria holding up her tote from Marie
So much fun! Everyone really enjoyed working in the improv style! And making a prize for someone else -- though a little stressful (especially when using their fabric!) -- is also super rewarding!

Lorraine was the only member to take on the Generation Q block challenge, and she did an awesome job of constructing a difficult block!

We also had show and share, which can be found on the new Gallery Page. (See the tab in the header above). Show and share pics can also be found on our Instagram account, so hopefully you are following along there!

Carol introduced the new Skill Builder Block of the Month. We've created a tab on the heading of this website "2015 Block of the Month" so you can access instructions easily.

And finally, Carol was the winner of the first destash raffle. We didn't get a shot of her with all of her winnings, but this will give you the idea, since Carol has been one lucky lady lately!

Great meeting, ladies! See you in October!
