March Meeting Recap

SEW AND SHARE

WE HAVE A SEWLEBERITY IN THE HOUSE!

Kim brought in her ribbons that she had won at QuiltCon 2017 in Savannah, Georgia.
She won 1st place in the Improvisation category as well as People's Choice Award!  Well Done!!

Judy brought in her latest finish for Show and Share! What a great two color quilt, the quilting is awesome as well.

Judy also brought in her block that she made from Delilah Quilt template of the month program.

Maureen is having fun sewing mermaid blocks!

Karen shared her latest adventure in machine quilting!  Experimenting with her long arm quilting machine and rulers!!

TUTORIAL TIME

LORRAINE WAS OUR TUTOR FOR MARCH!  She demonstrated the techniques involved in creating an Interleave Mini Quilt!  We brought all of our supplies to start the project. We had some homework to do to help get us going.  I forgot to sew down one side of the "fabric tube" and was quickly trying to hand sew a seam.  We are going to finish up the quilts at home and bring them to the May Meeting!  Looking forward to seeing some finished quilts in May!!

Raffle Prizes

We had a lot of raffles at this meeting!  Take a look at a few of the prizes!

Next Meeting: April 19

We are planning on having a sew-in for April's meeting, as well as Sew and Share and Raffles. Also Karen will be demonstrating thread drawing and painting.
We will be talking about the up coming meetings and the exciting things that the board has been planning for over the summer!
Please bring in the quilt tops that we made for our Medallion challenge to work on or a UFO you would like work on.  One of the great things about our guild is the sharing of ideas and projects that happens when we all get together.
I will be emailing a link to the current members to a Google Document where you can sign up for items to bring to the meeting, so that we do not all bring irons and no ironing surfaces!!!!

See ya soon!

  1. Good to know about your meeting. Few weeks ago, I arranged a dinner party with my friends at one of elegant New York Event Venues. Hired a renowned party caterer and he prepared excellent food for this event. Had a lovely party.
